Online menu of CULVER'S, PORT CHARLOTTE restaurant ratings

culver's port charlotte menu

A savory broth loaded with old-fashioned egg noodles, turkey, carrots, and celery. Inspired by Wisconsin supper clubs and mom’s home cooking, Culver’s dinners are served with two sides and a roll. Our frozen custard is always made fresh throughout the day with the finest ingredients. A colorful blend of vegetables, sliced beef, and barley in a hearty broth. Just the right amount of navy beans, slow cooked with savory ham.

Late-night food,

Shell egg noodles, spinach, zucchini, carrots, and celery in a tomato based soup. From a sweet-and-savory classic like the Turtle, to any sudden-craving creation, our sundaes all have one thing in common-Culver’s very own fresh Frozen Custard. Its smooth, creamy goodness frankly puts ice cream to shame. Our Mashed Potatoes & Gravy are the real deal-made with genuine U.S. potatoes, mashed 'til perfectly light and fluffy, and dripping with savory homestyle gravy.

Culver’s Port Charlotte, Florida Menu

Hand-seasoned, grilled chicken breast plus a generous helping of whole roasted cashews atop a healthful bed of lettuce blend. Hand-seasoned, grilled chicken breast and pieces of bacon plus a generous helping of dried cranberries and savory bleu cheese crumbles on a bed of lettuce with grape tomatoes. Midwest-raised beef with sliced white button mushrooms and red onion smashed and seared together on a grill, then smothered in homestyle beef gravy. Goes famously with mashed potatoes and green beans or your choice of any two sides plus a sweet yeast dinner roll. When all you want is Chocolate Fresh Frozen Custard on a crunchy crisp cake cone, nothing else will do.

Wild and Brown Rice with Chicken

Hand shredded and piled high on fresh sourdough bread with savory beef stock gravy. It’s tender, it’s juicy and it goes superbly with your choice of any two Classic Sides. Our Chocolate Fresh Frozen Custard owes its dark, decadent demeanor to our very own special Dutch-blend cocoa recipe. We prepare each small batch right in our restaurants, all throughout the day, using real Wisconsin dairy, so it’s ever so rich and uncompromisingly creamy.

Vanilla Fresh Frozen Custard atop a crunchy crisp cake cone is among life’s simplest pleasures. Born from a signature recipe developed over 25 years ago, calling for real Wisconsin dairy and the finest vanilla on earth, then prepared fresh right in our restaurants. Topped off with a helping of melted shredded Wisconsin cheddar for a tried-and-true masterpiece.

Grilled Cheese

Fresh Frozen Custard blended with mint and chocolate flakes. Crisp and colorful, for the healthiest of appetites. We start with a bed of fresh spring mix, then toss in fresh vegetables and other goodies to balance the flavors just right. Going down hill, ate there today, it was terrible. Hamburger buns were ice cold against a hot burger.

Topped with fresh strawberry topping, hot caramel, and hot fudge. Add a layer of whole salted pecans; three dollops of dairy fresh whipped cream, and of course the signature colossal Maraschino cherry. Made using the freshest, un-aged yellow and white Wisconsin cheddar, deep-fried golden brown for a warm buttery crunch. Provided exclusively to Culver's by La Grander Hillside Dairy in Stanley, Wisconsin. Irresistibly smooth and creamy, with real Wisconsin dairy, Culver’s famous Frozen Custard is made fresh in small batches throughout the day. Choose vanilla, chocolate or Flavor of the Day in a dish, cake cone or waffle cone.

A Culver’s classic, our Fresh Frozen Custard Chocolate Malt is a timeless indulgence. Made with real Wisconsin dairy and rich dark chocolate, along with milk supplied by more than 100 family farms and a generous scoop of slightly sweet malt. Nothing is as pleasing as a long, cold draw of Vanilla Shake handcrafted with Culver’s Fresh Frozen Custard. Born from our age-old recipe, calling for real Wisconsin dairy plus the world’s finest vanilla, along with milk supplied by more than 100 family farms. A tangy soup offering the taste of sharp American and cheddar cheeses, bacon, celery and green peppers. Three scoops of vanilla frozen custard nestled between a fresh, split banana.

The napkin dispenser was empty, and the ketsup pumps were also both empty. The menu for Culver's may have changed since the last user update. Bar and Billiards

The feeling of openness was nice, but I didn’t need all that room. There was a large bathroom with a long vanity and a lighted magnifying mirror. The room had a tiled walk-in shower, and no tub, which I’m finding is becoming standard with most hotel rooms these days unless they’re older or at the highest level of luxury. There’s an electric shuttle that runs through downtown and stops right across the street from the hotel.

Premier King Corner Room

The elegant lobby sets the tone for your Read House experience. Marble floors, the hotel’s original crystal chandeliers, and plush 1920s-style furniture make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. The uniforms of the hotel personnel stay true to the period. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen hotel housekeeping with a knee-length black dress with a ruffled apron.

However, the UAW is likely to face a tougher test as it tries to represent workers at two Mercedes-Benz plants in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A five-day election is scheduled to start May 13, where the union’s campaign has already become heated. Silverdale Baptist leaders and community members joined the school's student body on the football field to commemorate the groundbreaking Wednesday. Silverdale Baptist Academy broke ground Wednesday on a new academic building, The Commons, as part of an effort to expand the campus and prepare students to be workforce leaders. And, if you’re feeling brave enough, request Room 311 for your own chance to meet the ghost of Annalisa Netherly.

Go out the side entrance where the restaurants are and you’ll see the shuttle stop. The shuttles are clean and convenient if you’re flexible on time, but overall, I found the wait time longer than what was posted. Bridgeman’s Chop House is the hotel’s premier on-site restaurant. The sophisticated setting – think dark wood walls, elegant white tablecloths, and waitstaff in dapper uniforms – sets the tone for a “treat yourself” style meal. The beds were amazing...so comfortable and the pillows were equally plush. And lastly we required assistance to and from our room because we were traveling with my elderly mother.

The Ghosts of the Haunted Read House Hotel

In 1926, the Read House re-opened after a major transformation, the older parts of the hotel were stripped away and ten stories were added, with a design scheme influenced by the Palmer House in Chicago. During this period, it became a popular destination for travelers and was known for its luxurious accommodations and fine dining in the city’s center. She said VW workers saw the governors’ open letter as “an empty threat and a cynical ploy,” and they ignored it.

The Read House’s speakeasy-style bar sits just off the lobby and serves lunch and dinner. Like all good speakeasies, the billiard table is tucked in the back behind pocket doors. My door had a privacy feature where I could flip a switch and let housekeeping know not to knock versus having to manually put out a do not disturb sign. Housekeeping did not replace the water, but I got complimentary bottled water from the front desk for the duration of my stay. The premier rooms have more floor space and larger, black and white marble tiled bathrooms. The Read House has 241 guest rooms and suites divided between the Historic Tower and the Manor House.

The White House issued a statement from President Joe Biden congratulating the UAW. Nelson is trying to secure an industry-leading contract at United Airlines that she can use to court Delta crews. In the meantime, crews at startup Breeze Airways, many of whom live in the South, will vote next month whether to join her union. The Association of Flight Attendants, which has tried and failed to win over cabin crews at Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines, hopes to collect enough signatures to force another election at Delta by year end.

Spending the night in a haunted hotel on a solo trip would not have been my first choice but I came away unscathed. The Read House has 241 guest rooms and suites divided between the Historic Tower, which is the original hotel building, and the newer Manor House. While you can tell what’s newer while viewing the building from the exterior, the interior transitions are seamless. I have nothing negative to say, and I recommend this beautiful hotel in the heart of downtown Chattanooga to all types of travelers who want to be close to the action in downtown Chattanooga.

The water eventually receded, but the building would not last the year, and burned to the ground a short time later. The hotel is gorgeous and we loved both the facilities and the location downtown. A draw when booking is the indoor heated pool advertised, however, it’s not very warm and much in need of a renovation.

We have more than 70 million property reviews, all from real, verified guests. The Read House is the longest continuously operating hotel in the southeast, and holds a spot on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel has endured floods, The Civil War, epidemics, the Great Depression and an ever-changing Chattanooga. Biden criticized six Southern Republican governors, including Bill Lee of Tennessee, who told autoworkers this week that voting for union representation would jeopardize jobs.

The Manor House is the newer part of the hotel, and while you can tell what’s newer while viewing the building from the exterior, the interior transitions are seamless. If you like a hotel that packs some history (and maybe a ghost or two), then Read House is for you. It started as a rooming house in the 1840s and has also been a  drugstore that sold Coca-Cola and rented rooms before assuming the name of Read House in 1926. Welcome to a blog series delving into the intriguing historical gems scattered around Chattanooga. Explore the stories that make up this city’s rich past and form its culture of today. A venerable roster of dignitaries and notables paraded through its hallowed corridors.

Until it was her suitor who turned to other women and abandoned Annalisa at the hotel. In this version of the tale, poor Annalisa Netherly died of a heartbroken heart in Room 311. The final construction was a ten-floor, Georgian-style hotel that paid homage to its predecessor. The architects did their best to incorporate some of the fine decor that the first Read House Hotel had boasted. Some pieces, however--like the massive mahogany bar--were unfortunate victims of time and were never replaced.

Rutherford B. Hayes, Mexican President Miguel Aleman, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Andrew Jackson all spent nights in the suites. Luminous stars such as Bette Davis, Liberace, and Bob Hope kindled the night's fervor with their brilliance. Even the notorious Al Capone found himself in the hotel's custody, a pause in his tumultuous journey. The merging of the Western and Atlantic Rail Roads in the mid-1800s made Chattanooga much more accessible. Goods could be transported East to West, through Appalachia. With the influx of passengers and goods moving through, the city needed a hotel.

From there, they began the sketches for a new hotel that could compete with the likes of other early twentieth-century models. Unfortunately, the inn caught fire and was razed to the ground in 1867. And so it was time for the property to be passed into new hands... It’s not known whether Davis actually launched into political talk at the dinner table or perhaps over brandy, but he did so regardless, spouting off about the merits of the Southern states seceding from the Union.

The Ghosts of the Read House Hotel

Just remember that you do have to request that room at the Read House Hotel, and book ahead if you’ve got your heart dead set on it. You can imagine the horror staff must have felt when they attended to Annalisa’s room one day and found her dead in the bathtub, her throat slashed open and her head nearly severed from her body. Jealousy, or perhaps revenge, had been at the root of the murder. Along with his son, Samuel, the Reads set out to build the finest hotel Chattanooga had ever seen.

If you go left, you’ll be in the bar and billiards area with adjacent meeting rooms, and if you go right, you’ll hit the elevators to the historic tower rooms and the restaurant and coffee shop areas. The public areas are available for anyone to come to explore. There’s an electric shuttle that stops right across the street from the hotel (go out the side entrance where the restaurants are), and you’ll see the shuttle stop. Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19), this property is taking steps to protect the safety of guests and staff. Certain services and amenities may be reduced or unavailable as a result.

Join Ghost City Tours on a spooky Ghost Tour in downtown Chattanooga! We offer guided, walking tours of Chattanooga's most haunted locations. If you’re looking for a journey into haunted Chattanooga, there is no better place to start than at the Read House Hotel, formerly the Old Crutchfield House. It has been temporary home to famous guests like Oprah Winfrey, Winston Churchill, Charles Laughton, Tallulah Bankhead, Gary Cooper and numerous of other celebrity figures. Other guests have claimed to have experienced similar supernatural activity, as well as seeing ghostly soldiers roaming the halls of the hotel’s fourth floor.

Compared to the lovely common spaces in this grand building, the pool area is quite shabby. Prime location, old-world elegance, comfortable rooms at a great price, and loaded with on-site amenities and extras? I stayed as a solo traveler but would have been comfortable at this hotel with my husband and children.

Inquire at the desk about the guided tour availability, and if staff is available to give you a look, you can go in and take pictures. The hotel is also a stop on Chattanooga Ghost Tours, although the basic, standard tour doesn't go inside any of Chattanooga's (maybe?) haunted buildings. Unlike a lot of haunted hotels, the Read House Hotel's ghost doesn't consume the entire personality of the hotel. Whether you're there for the haunts or just want a posh place to stay in downtown Chattanooga, the Read House will likely check the box. Bridgeman’s is named for Peter “Rabbit” Bridgeman who worked at the hotel for 47 years. Onsite photos and displays pay homage to the restaurant’s namesake.

TikTok General Counsel Stepping Down to Focus on Fighting Ban Corporate Counsel

Be an advocate for the business and use law to advance the company’s objectives – don’t “wait” for problems, legal issues, or work. Being in proactive mode will be greatly appreciated by your colleagues and your supervisor. Do not overplay or think you can rely on the “attorney-client privileged argument” you were taught in law school or private practice for your various communications and advice. It really is a limited privilege, often doesn’t apply, and can be waived, especially in dealing with government or regulatory issues or investigations. General counsel play a prominent role in shaping the legal strategy of a company or organisation and advising executives on the best approach to compliance and handling legal risk.

Law firms have attorneys with more subject matter expertise and courtroom experience than most in-house counsel. Litigation also requires more resources than an in-house attorney can provide. However, while companies typically contract out litigation, companies with high litigation expenses will often hire an in-house counsel to manage the outside counsel. The role involves a significant amount of collaboration with various departments, requiring excellent interpersonal skills. Despite the high stakes and sometimes stressful nature of legal work, companies often foster a supportive environment, encouraging professional development through continuous learning opportunities and mentorship programs.

For forward-thinking teams, technology usually becomes a force multiplier that allows internal people to perform more tasks more efficiently—without expanding headcount. When a legal team is on the same boat as the rest of the company, it’s in their best interest to be understood as quickly and effectively as possible. Complex legalese and cumbersome legal analyses might alienate people from other teams, so make sure you present information in a clear and concise way that ensures effective communication. From automating manual processes like legal holds to managing contracts or processing eDiscovery data with the click of a button, the number of processes that can be streamlined through available legal technology is endless. The most valuable legal and ops professionals in the future will be those that know how to work smarter through the use of technology. If you are a member of a corporate legal team, don't miss DRI's In-House Defense Quarterly (IDQ), which offers in-depth reporting on topics relevant to in-house counsel.

Modern in-house teams need to be constantly looking for ways to work more efficiently and immediately switch gears when something is not working properly. They need to be more agile and less resistant to change—the same will hold true for the organizations they belong to, so they will need to adapt and row in the same direction. Closely related to tech-savviness, legal professionals must think out of the box and keep an innovative spirit to build resilience and come up with original and quick solutions to new challenges.

The SEC and Panuwat sparred over whether Medivation and Incyte were market competitors, a factual issue central to the jury’s determination of whether non-public information about the Medivation acquisition was material to Incyte investors. The SEC offered expert testimony that news of the acquisition would have a spillover effect on Incyte and cause its stock price to increase. Panuwat countered by calling a co-worker as a defense witness, who testified that Incyte and Medivation were not competitors and there was no connection between their stock prices. The SEC alleged that confidential information about the acquisition of Medivation was material to Incyte investors because Medivation and Incyte were comparable companies in a mid-cap industry sector that was the subject of potential acquisitions.

In the in-house counsel’s world, it is a little more “messy.” Not everything has to be “perfect” and needs “A” effort. You do not need to be a great legal expert to be a great in-house lawyer. In fact, the incorporation of legal technology into the practice of in-house legal teams is a trend that will keep booming with the rise of millennial legal professionals, who already make up the largest segment of America’s workforce.

They are your first go-to person if you have a legal question and is a resource to your team to ask questions first before they act. When you have an outside counsel, it means that you have hired a law firm to represent you and your company. It means usually you will have to pay a retainer fee and also pay your attorney and the firm on an hourly basis. Although in-house counsel salaries vary based on the attorney’s level of experience and other factors, one study found that the salary for 30% of in-house counsel respondents ranged from $200,000 to $249,000.

That means for anyone who does any work on your business at the firm, you will be charged for it. If the secretary does any filing of internal folders, they will charge you or her time. If the junior attorney does work on your file, they will charge you. If a partner does any work on your business (partners normally charge at a higher rate), then you will see a higher rate charged to you. This charging also includes any printing, any mailing, any filings they would have to do for you, etc. Not only are they dealing with new federal labor regulations—some of which redefine the employment relationship between company and worker—but a patchwork of labor policies is quickly developing in the states on a number of issues.

Traditionally, in-house counsel has been deemed more or less valuable on the sole basis of their legal acumen. Until recently, in-house teams’ responsibilities were practically reduced to providing legal advice and drafting and reviewing agreements. At times you may hear, “but everyone else is doing it” (which often isn’t true) and your response will be, “but should we? ” For example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, medical device companies had patents on how to design ventilators. The legal answer to whether they were required to permit the availability of such patented information to the broader public was, of course, no. However, with the help of wise legal counsel, some medical device companies nevertheless released those plans to aid in the public good. In-house counsels typically operate within a corporate office setting, where the ambiance leans towards the professional yet strives for comfort to accommodate long hours of focused work. Their workspace is often equipped with the latest technology, including computers with specialized legal software, secure communication tools, and access to extensive legal databases, ensuring they have all necessary resources at their fingertips. Law firms will invest in rapid response IT teams to prioritize your needs, and there will likely be more administrative staff to help ensure you are working at the top of your license. And for internal resources, it is not uncommon for only the general counsel or a few deputies to have any administrative support at all. So, make sure you know how to set up a calendar invite, use the company intranet to try and troubleshoot an IT issue before you make a call, and get used to tracking your own Continuing Legal Education credits (CLEs).

Understanding (And Thriving In) The Role Of An In-House Lawyer

A 2022 survey of more than 300 in-house counsels found that nearly 80% of in-house attorneys are stressed out or burned out, and many are actively looking to work elsewhere. They chiefly cite increased workload and dissatisfaction, stemming from repetitive work and being siloed into a specific niche. Also, a 2021 Deloitte survey found that 69% of general counsels in the past year felt their attorneys were taking on too much administrative work. Similarly, companies expanding globally often benefit from advice by outside counsel with expertise in such international and cross-border areas such as intellectual property law, labor and employment law, privacy law and transactional law. Budget-wise, in-house counsel are a more predictable expense than outside counsel because they are salaried employees. In years where the company’s legal demands are high, a company will save money with a salaried individual handling those demands.

The Evolving Role of In-House Counsel and When to Grow In-House Legal Teams

Not surprisingly, many in-house teams are working to shift their relationship with outside counsel, turning OC into a partner that works hand in hand with them to meet business and legal goals. You are now part of a larger team, all working together to advance the business. Don’t wait to be told by your supervisor what to do, and don’t turn away matters that aren’t strictly legal.

Navigating Financial Success by Avoiding Common Pitfalls and Maximizing Firm Performance

Millennials like to work for organizations that are tech-savvy and tech-friendly—oftentimes being the key drivers of the digital themselves. Great tools are industry publications and listservs that can keep you on top of the latest industry news, including competitive intelligence. Sign up to receive your company’s news releases, and the information it posts on sites like Facebook and Twitter. You can do the same with key competitors or thought leaders relating to your area of practice (e.g., Environmental, Social, and Governance issues (ESG), if that is relevant to your practice). Your practice will look different than in private practice (think about “mile wide, inch deep” approach, compared to the “mile deep, inch wide”). This growth is driven by corporations’ increasing need to navigate complex legal landscapes, manage risk, and ensure compliance with evolving regulations globally.

Companies in the finance, technology, entertainment, oil and commercial real estate industries often hire in-house counsel for this reason. In-house counsel, however, will seldom relieve the company of all other legal expenses. When legal issues escalate, in-house counsel might not have sufficient substantive expertise to eliminate the need for outside counsel. In addition, in-house counsel often discover hidden legal issues that require the support of outside counsel.

Relationships are reciprocal - be a good friend and colleague to others. You need to figure out how members of the team relate to each other and the power “dynamics” of the different players. Often your supervisor or others can help you understand how various players fit in the organization and the power structure (formal and informal). Like any occupation, much of what will make you successful is who you know, and how you can build relationships with them that help you and the organization. With all your relationships, you want to be clear you are there to assist and support them and their success.

But when an in-house team is a well-ingrained machine that leverages available technology to be as efficient as possible, the question of whether to outsource key matters or not tends to become a no-brainer. Although expanding in-house teams is a desirable outcome as both the organization and its legal needs grow, there are usually many team operations and processes that can be improved without the need for new hires. The more powerful your in-house team gets through these kinds of initiatives, the more likely it is to get expanded, replacing roles and tasks traditionally performed by outside counsel. When there’s enough work volume to support a full headcount and your team is excelling on efficiency, it’ll be easy to show the potential savings of expanding the team vs. outsourcing more tasks. In addition, some therapists provide group therapy, which is typically a therapist-led session with multiple people. It’s normal to experience mental health issues and relationship problems. Therapy can teach you more about yourself and your mental health concerns in a healing way.

In recent years, companies have been increasingly hiring in-house legal counsel. Some legal recruiters have likened this to the “dot-com era” of the late 1990s and early 2000s, where massive internet growth prompted a corresponding increase in in-house hires. Based on interviews with junior lawyers and expert analysis from the Chambers team. However, teams are generally more reluctant to hire in-house staff than spending more on outside partners, and the budget to expand in-house legal services tends to be difficult to obtain. In a recent one-of-a-kind in-housing survey conducted by Logikcull, respondents rated “lack of bandwidth” as the #1 reason for bringing more work in-house.

In-house counsel need to deeply understand they are advisors to the business. Legal risk is just one of many important risks that companies face. Your role is to identify the various risks, and advise on them in ways that enable your business leaders to make sound, informed decisions. You will rarely be the ultimate decision-maker on any given issue.

Charlotte Tilbury Nudegasm Glowgasm Face Palette Review & Swatches

charlotte tilbury nudegasm palette

Nudegasm (Multi-Glow) is a medium, coppery-orange with warm undertones and fine, gold pearl throughout that gave it a luminous glow on the skin. It had opaque color coverage, though the texture was firmer and a little stiffer, which became more yielding after a few uses but be careful when finger-swatching as it may compact the product further. Nudegasm (Super Glow) is a light, peachy gold with strong, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable color coverage with a smooth, slightly firmer texture, but it picked up evenly with a moderately-dense brush and blended out with ease. The highlighter didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture and lasted well for eight and a half hours on my skin.

How to apply

charlotte tilbury nudegasm palette

This was the least warm-toned shade that I've swatched within the formula, so I could see it being more versatile across undertones as a result. The texture was smooth, lightweight, thin, and fluid without being watery (more like a cross between water and gel), which helped it blend well with moisturizer, primer, or foundation or be spread across larger areas (like all over the face). The doe-foot applicator made getting just a touch out easier for highlighting the high points of the face, though it was less useful for getting product for mixing in. Nudegasm (Sculpt) is a light-medium brown with muted, almost yellowy-olive undertones and a matte finish. It had a very firm, stiff texture that I had to really dig at to loosen product, which yielded more medium, buildable coverage in practice. The powder was blendable and applied evenly to bare skin, but it required some effort to get it out of the pan itself initially.

Make up artists don’t come much more legendary than Charlotte Tilbury; with twenty years in the industry, she’s a true trailblazer, creating looks for some of film and fashion’s most iconic faces, and distilling her expertise into a line of luxury make up. The latest release to captivate us, the Super Nudes collection celebrates easy-to-wear neutral make up that everyone, everywhere will worship. From '90s-inspired nude lipsticks to endlessly glowy face palettes, these runway-ready arrivals are destined for your make up bag... I bought this on release but should have waited for your review only 2 shades work for me. I enjoyed the darker Glowgasm palette except the too light bronzer this palette feels like a step back for the brand who could do light, medium, and deep palettes. I can’t express how much I appreciate you discussing inclusivity in beauty.

Reviews

Difficult to do a precise Cupid’s now because it’s not sharp enough. The color is lighter and more peach/salmon than I thought it would be, it looks a bit chalky on my skin (light-medium with pink undertones). Not quite the holy grail lipliner I was hoping for! But, it serves its purpose and I do wear it from time to time. I agree but to their defense, most of Charlottes palettes are for light to medium skin. Like the two all in one palettes she just released. I can’t wear either one because they are too light and im not even deep toned.

Nudegasm (Super Sculpt) is a dark brown with warm, reddish undertones and a matte finish. It had mostly opaque, buildable pigmentation paired with a slightly firmer, somewhat stiff consistency. I found it seemed to yield more product readily after a few uses, but it sometimes required some pushing to dislodge powder from the pan's surface, which made it harder to control how much product I picked up each time. Once applied, the powder blended out without too much effort and wore well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably. I found it seemed to yield more product readily after a few uses, but it sometimes required some pushing to dislodge powder from the pan’s surface, which made it harder to control how much product I picked up each time.

I don’t understand how a brand can understand that there is more than one shade of “nude” for lipstick but it escapes them that the same doesn’t apply to cheek products… I will say that the palette is more medium/medium deep than very light/light-leaning as one might have expected, though. It would make more sense to offer Light/Medium and Medium/Deep options (at a minimum). Charlotte Tilbury Medium (4) Hollywood Flawless Filter ($44.00 for 30.00 oz.) is a light-medium beige with warm, golden undertones and a luminous sheen.

Customer Reviews

Dries down to an opaque waterproof finish very quickly, which means you need to get it right the first time. Not buildable because it’s impossible to add a second coat once it dries. But, the first coat is pigmented enough that you won’t need a second. Difficult to sharpen to a fine point due to the formula and the plastic (not wood) encasing. I can only get it to a blunt point and it keeps sliding out of the encasing and falling out.

Charlotte Tilbury Nudegasm Face Palette Review & Swatches

She is famous, like Dolly Parton, for sleeping in her makeup. Her eyes sparkle as she speaks with the runaway, chatty energy of a hostess welcoming you to a party. Her outsize personality is lovingly parodied on TikTok, and she’s prone to referencing the stars—both longtime friends like Kate Moss, her children’s godmother, and those twinkling in the cosmos—as well as energy frequencies. Tilbury says, “I don’t want to see invisible women,” so her products make eyes look brighter and complexions more dewy, and are known for creating an intensely glamorous effect.

That pink duochrome shade was unique and ethereal on my skin and I used that palette nonstop for a few months.Alas, this does look too deep and too warm for fair skinned ladies, so I’ll have to pass. I could probably make it work, just to look at that pretty packaging, but not sure I want to work that hard when I have other face palettes that will do the trick perfectly. Pillow Talk is a medium-dark pink with warm undertones and a matte finish. The color was consistent with the standalone version I have of this shade. It had good pigmentation with a soft, lightly waxy texture that applied fairly well to bare skin for all-over color application and was even easier to use strictly as a liner. It stayed on well for over six hours and was non-drying.

It leads to people like me getting shades, it’s that powerful. There is not really much I like from this collection – starting from the name; is CT copying NARS in its Orgasm obsession? The only shade here I like is Superfabulous, but I am sure it can be duped. Get starlit skin in seconds with Hollywood Flawless Filter, the customizable complexion booster that’s a primer, highlighter, and luminous mixing medium in one. Like a skin-perfecting digital filter in a bottle, Hollywood Flawless Filter can be used in four different ways to blur imperfections, smooth lines and pores, and illuminate the skin with a dewy, soft-focus glow. In person, Tilbury’s eyes are an electric blue-green that pops, especially when rimmed with her signature thick, elongated violet eyeliner (if you’d like to learn how to make your eye color stand out like hers, you can “Shop by Eye Colour” on the website).

Charlotte Tilbury Nudegasm Glowgasm Face Palette ($75.00 for 0.52 oz.) includes two shimmery shades and two matte shades; the latter two being designed for contouring/bronzing. The consistency of the two sculpting shades felt thinner and stiffer compared to most gel-powder hybrid formulas, though the other two powders were more yielding and more in line with the dense/slightly stiff (but not in a bad way!) expected from a gel-powder formula. As a standalone highlighter, this shade stayed on well for eight and a half hours.

She is passionate about understanding cats and different cat breeds. This interesting, elegant feline is closely related to the Oriental Shorthair cat, but it has a long, silky, healthy coat. You can find this breed of cat in an impressive range of coat colors, ranging from self-colored to tortoiseshell and even to shaded.

The 7 Spotted Cat Breeds

Coming from Cornwall in the 1950s, their odd, wavy coat which is super soft to the touch is the result of a natural mutation. In domestic cats, large ears are often a result of selective breeding. Egyptian Mau cats are one of the most recognizable breeds in the cat world, even for people who have never owned a cat. They’re considered an “exotic” breed and their pricetag shows them as such. Though the Egyptian Mau’s ears aren’t as big as some of the large ears on other cat breeds here, they’re still considered big.

Oriental

They also have expressive eyes that can convey what they want or need without being too verbose. Persian cats have long coats which require frequent brushing to prevent knots from forming. These cats are known for being very affectionate and social animals. They love spending time with people and have been known to listen intently when spoken to as if they understand every word.

Personality Traits

This is a very adventurous breed that loves to explore and will keep its playful demeanor long after its kitten days are finished. These cats make great family pets, with some almost dog-like personality traits. Although they are extremely active, your Egyptian Mau will also be ready and waiting to cuddle up to you after a tiring day. You might mistake the adult Singapura for an infant, as the tiny cat only averages 5 to 8 pounds. The Singapura is named for the Malaysian word for Singapore, and the breed was officially recognized by the Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) in 1982.

Facts about the Siamese

Their canine-like big ears and penetrating yellow eyes also add to the illusion. Despite this intimidating appearance, they are lovely cats with a very friendly nature and are loving towards their human guardians. Another Siamese derivative breed, the Havana Brown shares their long ears, but does not have the same colorpoint coloration. While not many people have heard of this breed, they have been around since not long after WWII.

Cat Breeds With Big Ears FAQ

The Scottish Fold is an endearing breed of cat that is known for its unique ears and charming personality. With their fluffy fur, big eyes, and huge ears, these cats are sure to steal your heart. If you’re looking for a pet that will always be up for cuddles and conversation, then the Scottish Fold could be the perfect companion for you. Some big-eared cat breeds, like the Savannah, may require more space to roam and explore.

Cornish Rex

Singapura mature slower than other breeds and do not reach adulthood until they’re 15 to 24 months old. They remain loyal to their families through old age and are curious and playful. They have small, round heads, large eyes, and of course, large ears. As the only naturally spotted domesticated cat, the Egyptian Mau is a gorgeous, exotic creature that still retains some of its ancestors’ exotic features.

With a balanced temperament and a preference for activity, it’s best to have a large garden for your Mau cat. Smart enough to turn on the faucet, Egyptian Mau cats also love playing with water. The Balinese cat breed began as a mutation of the Siamese cat breed. They are very similar to the Siamese cat breed but have a longer coat and they rarely weigh more than 5kgs.

house cats with big ears

They are great in families and can even get on well with other cats and animals. Big ears are typically more efficient at picking up sound frequencies, which would have benefited hunting and survival in the wild. The larger surface area of the ears helps to detect even the slightest rustle or movement, which is crucial for a predator. From an evolutionary perspective, larger ears can offer certain advantages. With a similar temperament to the Burmese cat, they are full of mischief, are affectionate, and extremely inquisitive. Singapura cats enjoy chasing balls down the hall or tap dancing on keyboards.

This is despite the fact they look very similar to an ocelot, so much so they get their name from them. The ocelot, however, has shorter ears in proportion to their head than the Ocicat. The latter has long pointed ears which give them a very expressive face and we defy anyone to contend their cuteness. One almost unique physical trait on these long ears is the presence of ocelli. These are distinctive markings which appear on the back of the ear and resemble the shape of eyes. Each of these feline friends is not just about those adorable, large ears – they have their cool styles and fun personalities.

This means there is a little argument over whether they should be included on our long-eared cat list. The reason is that during the mid-20th century, the taste for a longer slender look appealed more to many breeders. This resulted in the Modern Siamese cat which is more often shown and has longer ears. The Traditional Siamese, also known as the Thai cat, is now much less common and has shorter ears.

It is one of the oldest cat breeds, and its origins are often linked to Ethiopia, formerly known as Abyssinia. Meanwhile, the Siamese cat hails from Thailand and is recognized for its distinctive large ears and striking blue eyes. While most big-eared cat breeds have short coats and relatively low grooming needs, some breeds, like the Balinese, have longer coats that require more frequent grooming. If you’re looking for a low-maintenance grooming routine, a breed with a short coat, like the Sphynx or the Abyssinian, maybe a better fit. Being a hairless cat breed is perhaps the most distinctive characteristic between this and other cars, but it is not the only one. The lack of fur makes these ears look even longer, almost giving them an alien-like appearance.

Javanese cats are playful, energetic, and tend to be chatty like their Siamese ancestors. This breed is known for their curiosity, intelligence, and very affectionate. The Javanese makes a great family pet and does well with children. The Devon Rex is referred to as the pixie of the cats due to its large eyes, high-set cheekbones, slender bodies, and big ears. Some of them even have tufts of hair on the ears that resemble earmuffs. Chausie’s are a little wild in appearance because they are a cross between a jungle cat and a domestic cat.

Tessa Charlotte Rampling OBE (born 5 February 1946)[1] is an English actress.[2][3] An icon of the Swinging Sixties, she began her career as a model.[4] She was cast in the role of Meredith in the 1966 film Georgy Girl, which starred Lynn Redgrave. She soon began making French and Italian arthouse films, notably Luchino Visconti's The Damned (1969) and Liliana Cavani's The Night Porter (1974).

It can be easy to look back on Rampling’s career as a series of provocations. Her most infamous role, in Liliana Cavani’s The Night Porter, about the sadomasochistic relationship between an SS officer and a concentration camp survivor, was received with dismay by many critics, and banned in some countries. Was she trying to be provocative, or seeking out dangerous parts?

She arrived at Gare du Nord in time to catch her train from Paris to London, but when she got there, she realised she had left her passport at home. She has just moved, she explains, to a new place in Paris, the city in which she has lived for decades, and nothing is where she expects it to be.

Even earlier as a mere 14 year old, Rampling performed with her sister Sarah in their own cabaret act. Some reviewers attribute this ability to her mysterious, preternatural charisma and abiding beauty, and that is part of it. But it is also her actively focused talent for the natural representation of real people. We don’t notice how expressive ordinary people are unless we love them enough (or are frightened enough by them) to pay real attention. But everyone is uniquely expressive, even in the smallest gestures. We are so immersed in the parade of character in daily life that we don’t typically see this unless it startles us; we don’t have time to notice all the things that people are telling us.

Both Rampling and her father hid the cause of Sarah’s death from her mother. It is more than possible that film producers sensed this hidden darkness in Rampling and chose her for multidimensional, grave, sometimes decadent roles. Because its core meaning pivots on a small revelation so quick not everyone will see it, I don’t want to describe the story further.

She never quite felt comfortable in that world and thought she wasn’t very good at what she was doing. She has been seen on the covers of Vogue, Interview and Elle magazines and CRUSHfanzine. In 2009, she posed nude in front of the Mona Lisa for Juergen Teller.[24] In 2009, Rampling appeared in Todd Solondz's Life During Wartime.

Some big-eared cat breeds, like the Savannah, may require more space to roam and explore.

Egyptian Mau cats prefer heat and are quite sensitive to temperature. This is also a breed that likes attention and shouldn’t be left alone for long periods. So if you are after an independent and introverted type of kitty this isn’t the breed for you.

They also have expressive eyes that can convey what they want or need without being too verbose. Persian cats have long coats which require frequent brushing to prevent knots from forming. These cats are known for being very affectionate and social animals. They love spending time with people and have been known to listen intently when spoken to as if they understand every word.

Titanic Vs Modern Cruise Ship: A Feature And Size Comparison

titanic size compared to cruise ship

In comparison, the modern cruise ship version of the Titanic — aka the world’s largest passenger vessel — is Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas at the time of publication. It is 1,198 feet long and measures 250,800 GRT — a staggering five times the size of the Titanic by volume. The Titanic was technically an ocean liner, operated by the White Star Line.

Wonder of the Seas Vs Titanic — 8 Key Differences

With over 7 years of experience in the cruise industry, she brings a blend of insightful reporting and firsthand cruising knowledge. Sometimes, the measurements available online can make the Titanic appear quite tall. However, it’s important to consider that her smokestacks are exceptionally high, which can significantly distort the perceived height.

Titanic Passenger Count

The catastrophe resulted in the death of 32 passengers and crew and the injury of many more. The ship had departed from the Italian port of Civitavecchia, heading for Savona in northwest Italy, when it struck an uncharted rock just off the coast of the island of Giglio. The impact of the collision resulted in a large hole being ripped into the vessel’s hull, causing it to take on water rapidly. Higher bulk heads and double hulls can help prevent water from flooding the ship if a collision or breach occurs. Additionally, cruise ships are now equipped with radar systems to detect obstacles in their path, which can help them avoid dangerous situations. By today’s standards, the Titanic wouldn’t even make the top 100 cruise ships in the world.

Titanic’s legacy lives on

Cruise ships also host live performances in grand theaters and smaller, more intimate venues that might cater to specific musical or comedic tastes. In 1912, a third-class ticket on the Titanic cost 7 pounds ($35), while a first-class suite cost 870 pounds ($4,000). The Titanic, built in 1912, had an estimated price tag of $7.5 million, equating to around $400 million in today’s dollars. 40,000 people receive my best cruise tips, insights and guides every week.

Ocean liners were primarily used to bring passengers across the ocean from one point to another, whereas cruise ships go on pleasure voyages, closer to the coast, sailing between ports. What many people who are new to cruise ships fail to understand is the fundamental shift leisure cruising underwent in the second half of the 20th century. Ocean liners and ferries evolved into the cruise ships that we know today. Modern cruise ships utilize advanced diesel-electric or gas turbine engines that offer several advantages over their steam-powered counterpart. These engines are more efficient, providing greater speed and maneuverability while consuming less fuel. They also produce fewer emissions, making them more environmentally friendly compared to the coal-fired boilers used on the Titanic.

Titanic vs. Modern Cruise Ships: A Comprehensive Comparison

Although the Titanic was a large, luxurious ocean liner, it was not designed to provide passengers with a leisurely, relaxing cruise experience. It was used to transport passengers from one port to another most expeditiously and luxuriously as possible. At the same time, modern cruise ships provide passengers a much more leisurely and relaxed voyage experience. Modern cruise ships constantly push boundaries by introducing thrilling and unique features that were unimaginable during the time of the Titanic. Some vessels boast adrenaline-pumping activities like zip lines suspended high above the ship’s decks, providing passengers with an exhilarating rush as they soar through the air.

Overall the average cruise ship has come a long way in terms of safety, with regulations and standards improving significantly over the years. Modern cruise ships are subject to much more rigorous safety requirements and have taken significant steps to reduce the risk of accidents or other incidents. While there is room for improvement, the industry has made great strides in ensuring that passengers are safe while onboard.

Third-class cabins were more congested, with passengers sharing space in bunk-style accommodations. Despite the simpler living conditions, travelers in this class still enjoyed a decent level of service. With about 905 passenger spots, first-class staterooms offer ornate decorations and lavish furniture.

The biggest cruise ship in the world, Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, is approximately five times the size of the Titanic. While the Titanic is similar in size to some of the smaller cruise ships still being built, she is significantly smaller than today’s largest ships. Again, if we take that average to just being of the top 150 cruise ships in the world, it jumps up significantly to around 3,500 passengers and a crew of around 1,400, for a total capacity closer to 5,000. While the Titanic may be slightly longer than the average cruise ship today, she has a much smaller gross tonnage, because she wasn’t as wide nor was she as tall. She may have had a similar number of decks, but each deck would have felt more spacious.

It’s also where the Icon of the Seas exceeds many of the other ships being built today, which will average often as little as half that again. The best way to compare the two ships is in gross tonnage, as this tells you the overall volume of the ships. And with the Titanic’s 46,328 GT against Icon of the Seas’ 250,800, that’s where we can see just how stark the difference is. Here’s a list of just some of the cruise ships that are very similar to the Titanic. Of course, there are some ships much larger than this again, but there are a lot of ships that have a passenger capacity between 3,000 and 3,500 so the super-ships don’t skew these averages too much. Of course, it’s worth remembering that the Titanic had a class system in place, and some of the areas of the ship would be out of bounds to third- and second-class passengers.

One significant advantage of modern cruise ship swimming pools is the availability of poolside bars and eateries conveniently located near the water areas. Imagine sipping on a refreshing cocktail while taking a dip in the crystal-clear waters or indulging in mouthwatering snacks without having to wander far from your sun lounger. Unfortunately, aboard the Titanic, refreshment options around the pool were rather limited, leaving passengers with fewer choices for quenching their thirst or satisfying their cravings. Step aboard a modern cruise ship today, and you’ll find yourself spoiled for choice. Thanks to remarkable technological advancements, communication systems between crew members and passengers during emergencies have significantly improved on contemporary cruise ships.

Modern cruise ships still need to be able to dock in ports that are often quite old. To make matters worse, investigations determined that the Titanic’s lifeboats had not been used to their full capacity, and that a scheduled lifeboat drill had been cancelled by the ship’s captain. These shortfalls, among others, paved the way for numerous improvements in maritime safety regulation. Another recent build, Norwegian Viva, measures 965 feet long and carries 3,099 passengers (plus crew). However, at 142,500 GRT, even Norwegian Viva is three times the size of the Titanic.
